Brooklyn Does Manhattan: A Roundup Of BK Businesses In The City
OddFellows Ice Cream
For those of you out of the know, OddFellows is like wd~50 meets Ben & Jerry’s and that’s mostly because chef Sam Mason used to work at the former. In the year since the ice cream shop opened, Mason has created some 116 flavors, including Tobacco Leaf Smoked Chili Huckleberry, Coconut Dulce de Leche and Maple-Bacon Pecan. Unsurprisingly, Oddfellows has been a runaway success. This year, Mason and co-owners Mohan and Holiday Kumar have capitalized on that success and recently opened a second OddFellows location in the East Village at 75 E. 4th Street near Bowery. Go for the ice cream, stay for the framed picture of Jesus Christ holding an ice cream cone.
