Cobble Hill’s Van Horn Has Closed

Today in food-related heartbreak, we have this news: Van Horn, the Cobble Hill-based Southern restaurant, has officially closed its doors.
This unfortunate news hits we bkmag-ers especially hard since Van Horn has been one of our favorite sandwich spots since it opened nearly four years ago. We loved them so much, in fact, that we picked their fried chicken sandwich as the best sammy available in Cobble Hill. We still stand by that claim.
According to Eater NY, those fried chicken sandwiches as well as their delectable braised pork belly, pimiento cheese grits, catfish sandwiches and other mindblowingly good dishes are gone forever.
The restaurant announced the bad news via Facebook with a post reading, “VAN HORN IS FOR SALE! new opportunity awaits…so we are moving on after 3 1/2 years. We will miss you BK!”
We’ll miss you, too, Van Horn. We’ll miss you, too.
