True Story: Nirvana Played In Greenpoint Last Night
Why do Greenpointers have it so good?!
Following their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last night at Barclays Center, the three members of Nirvana (strangely enough, Rhode Island’s favorite band) headed as far North as they could possibly go in Brooklyn and played an invite-only show before 200 people at Greenpoint’s St. Vitus.
Of course, Nirvana minus the late Kurt Cobain just isn’t the same, but they more than made up for it, recruiting five superstar substitutes. In place of Cobain, the band had Joan Jett, J. Mascis, Annie Clark (of St. Vincent), John Mccaluey (of Deer Tick) and Kim Gordon do the vocal footwork. We’re just devastated that we weren’t there to experience the utter epicness of it all.
