As of Saturday, The East River Ferry Is Getting More Expensive
Along with its new spring schedule, the East River Ferry announced today that as of Saturday, weekend fares will rise to $6.
Weekday fares will stay at $4, though (good news for those of us with offices in DUMBO), and, as Gothamist points out, they’re not exactly blindsiding us with this: much like this summer’s G train closures, we’ve known about this for a while, and the fare hikes was bundled in with the December announcement that ferry service would be extended through 2019. Well, now it’s upon us. Conspicuously absent from all these announcements? Any word at all on when service will be restored to the docking station in Greenpoint.
