Beacon’s Closet’s New Greenpoint Location Opens This Weekend
Like so many businesses, artists, and families before them, Beacon’s Closet has been priced out of Williamsburg, and officially closed up shop at their old North 11th St. location this weekend after news broke back in September that their landlord wanted to raise their rent exponentially. Now, via Greenpointers, looks like they’re tentatively planning to re-open in their new Greenpoint home this coming Saturday, 3/8.
The new spot is located at 74 Guernesey between Norman and Nassau, and the store assures loyalists that “everything about [the new location] will remain the same, just a bit spruced up and less abused.” As previously reported, their old space will be occupied by Vice’s ever-expanding operations, but you can rest easy in the knowledge that you’ll still be able to shell out $60 for a “vintage” Urban Outfitters top—you’ll just have to do it in Greenpoint now.
