Feel Like Doing Something Nice? How About This Toy Drive For Sandy-Affected Kids
After launching last year in support of kids whose families were affected by Sandy, the Big Brooklyn Holiday Toy Drive is back, taking donations, and even hosting a huge party. In other words, there’s no reason not to participate.
The BBHTD is now in the middle of a two-week long collection drive (December 1st through December 15th) with drop-off locations in Greenpoint, N. Williamsburg, DUMBO, and Park Slope (full list of addresses below). They’re looking for new, unwrapped toys for kids age 14 or under.
You can also bring a new, unwrapped toy valued at $20 or more to their “Collection Party” at Red Star Bar in Greenpoint on Tuesday, December 17th from 7-10pm. Bringing a toy means you’ll get access to an open bar, food buffet, music, and a raffle with prizes such as professional sports tickets, private parties, concert tickets, dinners for two, and much more. All money made on said raffle will go directly to the purchase of additional toys. So, like we said, a no brainer. Make sure some Brooklyn kids have a good holiday, drink with your friends, win prizes. The holiday season at its best.
