Gimme Shelter: The Homes of 8 Brooklyn Professionals
The most common question New Yorkers ask each other is, “What do you do?” In this city of overachievers and workaholics, a person’s profession can say a lot about who they are and what they care about. But the second most asked question is, “Where do you live?” This isn’t just geographical curiosity (though, of course, we know… location, location, location), but a New Yorker’s way of saying, “How do you live?” After all, this city isn’t known for its wide-open spaces or even wide-open floor plans. There’s the writer, the architect, the politician, the tech entrepreneur… these are the people you see on Brooklyn’s streets. This is where they live.
