A Traveler’s Guide to Brooklyn’s Best Music Venues
Best Bet if Money Is Somewhat of a Concern: Knitting Factory
Where it is: 361 Metropolitan Ave, Williamsburg
Who to see: The Lemonheads (7/24), Cayucas (8/28), Hanni El Khatib with Bass Drum of Death (10/12)
The Knitting Factory, a tired-and-true institution since its days as a Manhattan live-music stable, now acts as a cross section of Brooklyn venues. At a capacity of about 350, it’s not too big or too small. With ticket prices typically hovering around the $12 mark, it’s not too expensive. They’ve got a great sound system with not a bad sightline in the room—one that sees an endless line of buzzy bands and old favorites travel through. It’s a happy medium. A safe bet for anyone still undecided on where to go tonight.
