Williamsburg Is Only the Third Most Hipster Neighborhood In America?
But I’m just not sure we should totally trust the Forbes list. And, that sucks, because I have been ON THE HUNT for the definitive list of hipster neighborhoods for some time now and was really hoping that Mike’s mom had hooked me up.
Associate Editor and hard-core partier (seriously, NO ONE can keep up with this girl) Lauren Beck pointed out that the San Diego neighborhood highlighted by Forbes was not really in the same league as Williamsburg or Silver Lake. Forbes lists North Park, San Diego at number 13 on the list and says that it has, “Craftsman cottages, cafes and diners, coffee shops, several microbreweries, [and] boutiques.” But Beck brilliantly points out that the photograph that Forbes used of the neighborhood shows a giant Starbucks. Beck says that she was going to “make a joke out of it, well, not really a joke, but more of a comment.”
I think, no comment necessary. We are all hip enough to know that Starbucks is not hipster at all. Try harder next time, Forbes.
