Brooklyn’s bike lane infrastructure, best enjoyed in summer, has improved immensely in recent years, except down in the southern half. Bike advocates there recently pushed for a bike lane on Bay Ridge Parkway, but were shot down. “We don’t have a strong bike culture” like other communities, explained Doris Cruz, the chair of the local community board’s transportation committee. But they will start looking for alternate routes. Hurry up, Bay Ridge: your old roads are rapidly aging. Please get out of the new ones if you can’t lend your hand.
