The Ongoing F Train Fiasco
Construction on the F line is wreaking transportational havoc: because of work at two stations, residents of Windsor Terrace can’t leave the neighborhood without walking to Park Slope first (or riding a few stops back into Kensington and transferring). While it’s made life hard for residents of the sleepy neighborhood, it’s about to get a lot worse for some others. In mid-May, the MTA plans to close the Smith-Ninth Street station entirely until the following spring—as if it wasn’t hard enough to get to Red Hook before! We might understand the necessity of repairs to ancient infrastructure, but that doesn’t mean we have to like it.
