Brooklyn Mirage Left Its Shiny, Strange, and Kinda Awesome VIP Pods Behind
The sleek, futuristic structures remain "untouched" since installation, according to their designer
The Brooklyn Mirage saga may have felt protracted in scope and duration (because, frankly, it was), but when the club and its parent company finally folded earlier this year, it didn’t take much time for them to clear out of their old haunts. In fact, they skipped town in such a hurry that a few pieces of its most eye-grabbing, interesting, and unused structures were left behind.
According to a recent post from Hello Wood, the European design company behind a five-piece of “cabins” intended as green rooms for Brooklyn Mirage talent and VIP, the pods have been abandoned in the back of the venue, where they were installed in the spring of 2025, ahead of what would have been Mirage’s season opener on May 1, 2025. But, by now, we should all know how that went (not great).
And it’s a shame, really. These strange, chromed-out cabins are kinda awesome. Each features a dining area, a lounge, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a massive window offering panoramic views of whatever you manage to place it on. And did we mention they’re basically brand new? Hello Wood, in their post—which doubles as a “for sale” sign—claims the pods are “untouched,” perfect for someone with a ground-level apartment and a yard that could use a fully enclosed outdoor eating area, or access to some amount of upstate acreage that’s feeling a little unfurnished. Whoever winds up putting in a bid should probably be prepared for some pretty steep associated costs. We imagine moving these things will not be easy or cheap, and that doesn’t even touch whatever hook-ups are needed to support their most domestic features.
Should they go unclaimed, there is another potential fate for the futuristic pods. It wouldn’t be the most out-of-pocket play for, perhaps, Pacha, the incoming successor to Mirage, to incorporate them into whatever they have planned for the space post-demolition. Its banner is expected to fly once more this Spring, following a bumpy bankruptcy process that transferred full management to FIVE Holdings, the company behind the venerable name in global nightlife. Pacha’s previous outpost in Hell’s Kitchen closed in 2016, and its return has been met with a good bit of excitement. But we’ll have to wait and see if FIVE and the new team are able to avoid the same pitfalls as the previous tenants.
