2024 Presidential Election: How to Vote in Brooklyn
Where and when to cast your ballot.
In less than 24 hours, millions will flood polling sites across the country to vote for the next president of the United States. In Brooklyn, thousands have already finalized their decision. But if you had to wait until Election Day to cast your ballot, BKMAG has you covered with everything you need to know about voting in Brooklyn.
When is Election Day?
Sorry to state the obvious, but just in case you needed that last reminder, Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, is Election Day. To vote, you had to register by Oct. 26.
Where in Brooklyn do I vote?
There will be hundreds of polling sites open across the borough, including schools, community centers, libraries, and churches. You can find your poll site here by entering the address you listed when you registered to vote. The website spells out the address for your polling site and even provides tips on which entrance you can enter through.
What time do the polls open and close for voting in Brooklyn?
The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voters can go to their site whenever is most convenient for them. People standing in line by 9 p.m. will also still be able to cast their vote.
Who’s on the ballot?
Voters will be more than familiar with who is running for president––former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. But those aren’t the only items Brooklynites can cast their vote for. In fact, there are a number of local election items that need Brooklynites’ attention including candidates running for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, as well as six ballot measures. Of the six ballot measures, one is focused on New York State’s Constitution, while the others will change the law in New York City. You can see your complete ballot here.
