Your Sunday Plans: Caveman and More (for Free!) at the Brooklyn Flea
The laws of the universe dictate that Sundays were made for relaxing. Acceptable activities include: sipping lemonade, barely moving, drinking out of coconuts adorned with mini paper parasols, buying a vintage summer dress or perhaps a lightweight blazer, and listening to warmly weathered indie rock.
We got just the thing. Swing by 50 Kent Avenue during the Brooklyn Flea this Sunday for the second installment of the fittingly monikered Brooklyn Live at the Flea, that free summer concert series we won’t shut up about. Not only are there sippable coconuts with paper umbrellas for sale, but Caveman, whose hazy rock sounds perpetually in bloom, tops a bill tailor-made for an August weekend. They’ll be joined by Kevin Farrant’s Rivergazer, whose summer Sunday-ness is undeniable (just listen to this), and The Fluids, purveyors of loose anthems suited for the season.
Gates to the Brooklyn Flea in Williamsburg (50 Kent Ave & North 12th St) will open at 10am, per usual, with The Fluids on at 3pm, Rivergazer (solo set) at 3:45pm, and Caveman at 4:45pm. You’ll want to RSVP here — in case you’re just joining us, the show is totally free. Ain’t life grand? While you’re at it, get yourself set for Brooklyn Live’s next shows by RSVPing to The Hotelier with Bent Shapes and Japanese Breakfast on August 16, and Mas Ysa on August 30. Sundays are fundays, now and forever.
This free concert series is brought to you in partnership with Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn, NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, Northside Media Group & Brooklyn Flea.
