1st Annual ‘Taste of Bushwick’ Event Coming Next Month
Frankly, we find our borough’s unbelievable food culture terrifying in so much as we haven’t figured out what we did to deserve such an amazing and overwhelming selection of things to eat and drink. It’s a pretty wonderful problem to have.
Now, we’ve learned that yet another magnificent event is joining the legions of borough-specific food events. It’s called A Taste of Bushwick and it’s debuting next month.
From 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, June 16, local theater Bushwick Starr (207 Starr St. nr. Wyckoff Ave) will host the event inside their venue and on their 1000 square foot rooftop. A host of local restaurants and drinkeries will dish small bites for attendees with an after party to follow at Radio Bushwick from 9:15 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Here’s the lineup so far:
Arepera Guacuco, Cafe Ghia, Fritzl’s Lunch Box, Northeast Kingdom, Tchoup Shop @ Heavy Woods, The Bodega, The Sampler, Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos, Henry’s Wine & Spirit, Cafeteria La Mejor, and a hotdog cart from Boar’s Head.
Pretty solid if you ask us. Early bird tickets, available until June 8, will set you back $35 with tickets going for $40 after that. If you’d rather do it up in style, an additional $40 will buy you a VIP pass of sorts that includes a Taste of Bushwick tote bag filled with goodies from Boswyck Farms, Bucolic Bushwick, Circo’s Pastry Shop, Fine & Raw Chocolate, The Sampler, Sweet and Shiny and other as-yet-unnamed local businesses.
And finally, all proceeds from the night will directly benefit the non-profit Bushwick Starr theater, so we guess the only remaining question is when are you going to buy your sure-to-sell-out ticket?
