Former Jehovah Witness-Owned Buildings In DUMBO To Become Tech Offices
Remember when Senator Chuck Schumer said the Brooklyn Tech Triangle needed even more buildings to accommodate our growing tech community? Well, somebody was listening because word on the street is that a collection of DUMBO buildings formerly owned by Jehovah Witnesses will soon be transformed into a magnificent tech campus.
According to the Daily News, five buildings with 1.2 million square feet between them will sit just outside Cadman Plaza Park and be rebranded as Dumbo Heights. The sleek complex will feature “a gourmet market, roof deck, pet-friendly spaces, daycare facilities and bicycle storage.”
The renovation will set building owners The Kushner Companies back $100 million on top of the $375 million the company already paid for the buildings, but they’ll get a major return on their investment: Rents will start just below $60 per square foot.
