3 Killed in Shooting at Crown Heights Bar
Eight others were injured in the incident, which police believe involved multiple gunmen
Three people were killed in a shooting at a bar and restaurant in Crown Heights overnight.
Police responded to reports of gunfire at Taste of the City Lounge on Franklin Avenue at 3:30 a.m., the New York Times says. Eight men and three women, ages 27 to 61, were wounded, three fatally: a 27-year-old man, a 35-year-old man, and another man, whose age was not disclosed. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
One witness, Pierre Tutu, told the Times he was outside when he heard shots fired inside the establishment at 3:20 a.m.
“There were a lot of them,” he said. “People were flying all over the place trying to save their lives.”
According to the New York Post, the shooting resulted from a dispute inside the bar. Police retrieved at least 36 shell casings from multiple weapons, indicating that more than one shooter was involved. No arrests have been made. Police believe another gun found at the corner of Eastern Parkway may be connected to the shooting.
