Erykah Badu is Toasting 25 Years of ‘Mama’s Gun’ in Brooklyn
The neo-soul icon announced a two-night stay at a historic Brooklyn theater in celebration of her classic sophomore album
No stranger to the borough, Erykah Badu is taking the 25th anniversary celebration of Mama’s Gun to Brooklyn this year.
The Mama’s Gun ’25 – Return of The Automatic Slim tour will bring the neo-soul icon back to the Kings Theater for two nights on December 5 and December 6. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 1, but a pre-sale is already underway for member’s of the artist’s World Market mailing list.
Badu has been a frequent, almost annual, presence in the city for years. The shows mark her first performances at the palatial Flatbush venue in a decade (roughly to the day). Her last stop at Kings was on December 2, 2015, just days after the Black Friday release of her But You Cain’t Use My Phone mixtape, which serves as the singer’s latest album-length project-so you can probably expect a good blend of both albums, as the shows technically stamp a double anniversary.
The Kings Theater shows will come at the tail-end of a bustling touring stretch for the Dallas artist, who just finished a co-headlining stint with The Alchemist in Japan in support of their upcoming collaborative album. They’re set to launch the stateside leg on August 8 in Seattle.
Grab your tickets to see Erykah Badu live at the Kings Theater in Brooklyn via World Market, and check out the full Mama’s Gun ’25 tour schedule below.
