The El Alfa Victory Lap is Coming to Planet Brooklyn
"A true celebration for the culture!"
Dembow legend El Alfa is entering the Planet Brooklyn orbit.
The Dominican rap star, who is currently on his final world tour, is the latest addition to the still-expanding two-day, three-stage festival. He’ll touch down at Barclays Center on Saturday, August 23, joined by Lil Pump, who will almost surely pop out for a run of their collaborative 2020 smash “Coronao.”
“New York has always shown me so much love, and Brooklyn has unique energy. My performance at Planet Brooklyn will be my last show in Brooklyn, and I’m excited to make it something unforgettable,” Alfa told BKMAG in a statement. “I’m ready to light up the stage and take dembow to the next level. It’s going to be a historic night—a true celebration for the culture!”
Tickets for the show are on sale now.
Alfa and Pump join a stacked Planet Brooklyn roster at Barclays, which already includes Michael Montano, Bunji Garlin, Ayetian, and Problem Child. But that’s just one of the venues this first-of-its-kind music and culture festival is hitting. Over at Brooklyn Paramount, you’ll be able to catch Ludmilla, Junglepussy, Cupcakke, bbyMutha, Bodega Party, Mykki Blanco, and Cakes Da Killa, amongst others. And at BAM, you’ll find a pair of free-with-RSVP shows from Daymé Arocena and Natu Camara
Beyond the indoor stages, you’ll also find a vast and vibrant network of block parties hosted by Everyday People, Menada Sound System, Saint James Joy, and more.
It should be noted, we’ve been told that doesn’t even quite cover it. See the full line-ups and ticketing options and stay tuned for updates in the weeks ahead.
