Where to Watch Super Bowl LIX in Brooklyn
Between neighborhood pubs, hookah lounges, independent theaters, and, yes, even indoor hydroponic gardens, you can watch Super Bowl LIX in a wild range of environments this Sunday
Come Sunday, February 9, the entire country will be tuning in to see the Philadelphia Eagles once again square up with the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl matchup.
Beyond the spectacle of a highly anticipated rematch between the Eagles and a painfully dominant Chiefs regime, the Super Bowl LIX halftime show will be a sight of its own, featuring long-teased and debated performances from Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
To capitalize on all the buzz and drama, Brooklyn businesses are luring residents out of their homes and into their respective establishments with great food and drink deals on gameday. And you’d be remiss to pass on the opportunity to soak it all in with friends and fellow cable-free Brooklynites. After all, there are few things as fun as watching the Chiefs beat up on a team with a fanbase liable to flip cars and burn dumpsters in the event of a win (never mind what a loss looks like).
For those seeking adequate viewing accommodations, here are some of the best places to watch the Super Bowl in Brooklyn.
Tulum
1056 Broadway
On the restaurant side of Tulum, patrons can catch the Super Bowl at their own table while indulging in $10 guac and chip plates, $10 taco and burger dishes, and $8 buckets of wings. The lounge area, on the other hand, will be the site of an exclusive watch party hosted by Trish BK Productions, where, in addition to devouring the gastronomic offerings, guests will get to have some fun at hookah stations. And DJ Ozee will be playing tunes across the entire space.
Brooklyn Bowl
61 Wythe Ave.
Doors open at 5 p.m., when 14 different HD screens will show the game and the staff serves food and drinks all night. Wing packages are available and Coney Island Mermaid Pilsner pitches will cost a relatively affordable $30 each. But keep in mind, if you want to bowl while watching, you’re going to have to reserve a lane in advance (which you can do right here).
TimeOut Market
55 Water St.
There will be much to do at the TimeOut Market in Dumbo this Sunday. At 3 p.m., resident DJ Stretch will start spinning tunes on the 5th floor for an awesome pre-game extravaganza. And at 6:30 p.m., every screen at the market will be playing the match. Stick around the fifth floor if you want to watch it on a projector, with the sound on. Specials will be aplenty as well, in addition to exciting giveaways. Entry is free, but you’re encouraged to reserve a spot ahead of time.
Clara’s
53 Wilson Ave.
A neighborhood pub, considered by many the purveyor of some of Bushwick’s most outstanding buffalo wings, will serve beer buckets filled with different ailes—Miller High Life, Miller Light, Coors Banquet, and Tecate—for a relatively affordable $25.
Farm.One
625 Bergen St.
One of the more unique entries on the list, Farm. One is a cocktail bar, an event space, and an indoor hydroponic farm (yes, you read that right) all in one. On Sunday, the business will host a free Super Bowl party starting at 6 p.m., complete with a pizza pop-up in the back of the space.
The Brazen Head
228 Atlantic Ave.
The Brazen Head will run an all-day beer and shot special. Grab a Miller High Life and a whiskey for $7 or a Modelo with tequila for $8. A fun time is guaranteed.
Fulton Hall
250 Ashland Pl.
Whether as a walk-in or a reservation holder (you can book a spot by emailing ian@vortexhospitality.com), you’re sure to enjoy your time at Fulton Hall this Sunday. Specials will include buckets of seasonally appropriate fare (wings! Jalapeno poppers! Pigs in a blanket!) and pitchers of beer. Bonus point: a limited number of parking spots will be available for reservation. Just reach out to the address above.
IV Purpose
1489 Fulton St.
We can’t think of more appropriate Super Bowl accommodations than this two-floor sports bar in Bed-Stuy. IV Purpose—pronounced “for purpose”—is a Black-owned bar known for both proper pub food—think sliders, sandwiches, and more—and hearty drinks, like spiked lemonades, Bloody Mary concoctions, and frozen cocktails. Super Bowl specials have not been announced yet, but if they are as exciting as the usual $35 boozy brunch menu with unlimited beer, we’re in for a treat.
Gun Hill Publick House
52 34th St.
Two words: open bar. Starting at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, this Industry City destination will allow patrons to purchase an open bar ticket for a relatively affordable $50 per person. Sure, you can opt to pay-per-drink, but where’s the fun in that?
Three’s Brewing
333 Douglass St. and 113 Franklin St.
The idea of watching the game at a massive bar with your kids in tow sounds a bit counterintuitive. But if you have to bring the little ones anywhere, let it be Threes Brewing in Gowanus or Greenpoint. Both locations are hosting watch parties and serving food, partnering with Grand Army in Gowanus and Gotham Burger Social Club in Greenpoint.
Acoustik Garden Lounge
1515 Atlantic Ave.
The Super Bowl watch party at this Crown Heights destination is free to attend. However, you will need to reserve a spot in advance right here. Get there hungry and ready to party: drink and food specials abound!
Nostrand Avenue Pub
658 Nostrand Ave.
Although this chill neighborhood bar near Crown Heights is not offering any gameday specials, the staff is excited to have the much-anticipated matchup on the bar’s screens with the sound cranked. There’s just something about the laid-back vibes at Nostrand Avenue Pub that feel particularly conducive to sparking new friendships over ice-cold beers and all the amateur game analysis you can handle.
Syndicated Bar
40 Bogart St.
Part movie theater, part bar, and part restaurant, Syndicated is one of the coolest hospitality concepts currently operating in Brooklyn. On Sunday, patrons can watch Super Bowl LIX inside the theater or at the bar, where the game will be screened across multiple TVs. If you’re opting for the former, we suggest you secure your $15 tickets here ASAP. You’ll be able to order food and drink from the comfort of your seat. If you prefer to see the match from the bar, you won’t need to make any advance arrangements, but we do suggest heading there early.
