KidSuper and Brooklyn Nets partner for new merch collection inspired by the borough
The capsule drops Friday, Nov. 1, at noon.
The Brooklyn Nets have joined forces with the Brooklyn-based brand and designer KidSuper for a new merch line inspired by the culture and vibrancy of New York City’s most populated borough. The collection launches Friday, Nov. 1, at noon and will be available online, at Barclays Center, and at the KidSuper store in Williamsburg.
KidSuper’s founder, Colm Dillane, said in a statement he started his brand only a few blocks away from Barclays Center, so partnering with the Nets is something of a full-circle moment.
“There’s so much iconography in the sport of basketball, let alone Brooklyn, so being able to create with both of those ideas as catalysts was amazing,” he said. “There’s no place more iconic than Brooklyn and representing the borough means a lot to me.”
The collection is a blend of streetwear and high fashion, with splashes of color punctuating the Nets’ black-and-white aesthetic. Key items include varsity jackets in blue or black with Brooklyn emblazoned across the chest, a knit zip-up sweater and matching pants set, and various accessories. It’s the latest release from bǝrō, the premium line the Nets launched last season.
In addition to Dillane, the campaign features notable Brooklyn figures including Nets players Nic Claxton and Jalen Wilson, musician Laila, and Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso.
Fans can celebrate the launch with a free pregame party at Barclays Center Plaza on Friday, Nov. 1, from noon to 4 p.m. Dillane will co-host the event, which will include activities like basketball challenges on a custom court and a chance to win items from the collection.
