See The Royal Tenenbaums for Free in McCarren Park Tonight
Oh, hi, did you happen to notice it’s already August? Absolutely insane, right? Well, don’t waste another moment of this fleeting summer. Come hang out with us in McCarren Park tonight to watch one of the last SummerScreen movies of the season: Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums! And not to ask too much of you, but… if you happen to have a sweatband or a red track suite or fake hawk or a little barrette you can throw in your blonde bob, why not go for it? Because we’ve always wanted to be a Tenenbaum, you know? And we’re sure you have too.
Before the movie, catch a live set from Brooklyn’s very own Honduras, presented by TIDAL. And make sure to pick up a poem about your own dysfunctional family courtesy of the Margot-style prodigies of The Haiku Guys & Gals. And as important as it is to be on your guard for a family fire drill, we still suggest dulling your senses with a couple beers from Coney Island Brewing Co. and some excellent grub from from favorite local restaurants, courtesy of our Seamless Lobby.
Also, tonight Summerscreen will be closing the polls for their Audience Choice movie on August 10. The choices for which are:
-Almost Famous
-Fifth Element
-Fast Times at Ridgemont High
-Snakes on a Plane
-Superbad
-You Got Served
Right now, Almost Famous is in the lead. Not happy about that? Then VOTE NOW!!
SummerScreen is located at the entrance to McCarren Park on North 12th & Bedford. Gates open at 6pm, music at 7:15pm, and the film starts at sundown. See you there!
