90s Fest Brings Nostalgia to Williamsburg This Summer
As if our penchant for 90s nostalgia hadn’t already reached critical mass, Williamsburg will play host to some of the decade’s most gushy pop bands, hip-hop acts and bleeding-heart songwriters this September during 90’s Fest. You’ll have a chance to see the likes of Smash Mouth, Blind Melon, Lisa Loeb and Coolio (Coolio!) if you so desire a ticket to the festival September 12th.
There’s even a surprise act on deck for the festival’s lineup, which begs us to wonder just who the hell it could be. Could it be Semisonic? What about Queen Latifah? Or Third Eye Blind? It’s probably Third Eye Blind.
While we can’t live in the cherished past, or guarantee that the Fresh Prince will make an appearance, there will be a boat-load of silly 90s-era activities for you to choose from. Spin reports that 90s Fest will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for longest “Macarana” dance, in addition to holding a Mariokart tournament for all those unlucky souls who had their Nintendo 64 confiscated by Mom. All of these shenanigans will be emceed by everybody’s favorite 90’s slacker, Pauly Shore.
Tickets went on sale June 17th and can be purchased here. We highly recommend attending if you’re a bonafide 90s freak, but in the meantime, you can catch your nostalgia fix by watching this video of Carson Daily introducing the Backstreet Boys on Total Request Live:
