11 Top Brooklyn Chefs and Food-Lovers Pick What They’d Want for Their Last Meals
Zahra Tangorra: Brucie
Last meal? My last meal would have to be a red sauce Italian feast! Start off with a negroni or two (negronis are like boobs, one is not enough, three is too many) from there a little cold antipast. Some good mozzarella, gabagool and procut, olives, marinated anchovies. White wine, Guccione “grigis” catarratto. Then mussels marinara and eggplant rollentini. Maybe a few nibbles of a stuffed artichoke. Pasta course would be ravioli and penne alla vodka with a forkful or two of spaghetti and meatballs. Red wine, cantina giardino “dragone” aglianico.
Chicken Marsala and veal parm and a bottle of Ariana occhipinti 100% frapatto. Tiramisu and cannoli and an amaro ciociaro and a big kiss from my boyfriend and then lights out, que the Pavarotti.
Last meal in Brooklyn? This would have to be in Brooklyn, no doubt, and could only possibly take place at my favorite restaurant of all time: Bamonte’s! Bamontes is just such a wonderful and special place. I’ve been going for years and can’t think of another restaurant that can even hold a candle. There is always a new cool place popping up, but this spot is a classic gem that never goes out of style!
