The Elm*
Luksus
Atrium
If you’re the type that really eats with your eyes first, these three artistically inclined restaurants are for you. Although Luksus’ beef tartare topped with sour cream and onion chips made from dehydrated chicken stock stands in stark contrast to Atrium’s unfailingly elegant French fare (like crispy pork belly paired with baby corn, roasted peaches, and bright red rings of fresh chile), they’re equally aesthetically pleasing. And The Elm (our winner) truly excels at visual razzle dazzle (chef Paul Liebrandt’s frequent inspiration is artist Cy Twombly), which is exemplified in dishes like the “Garden,” a colorful riot of cooked and raw fruits and vegetables. It’s exquisite controlled chaos.
