The Most Romantic Bar Crawl in Brooklyn
Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar
73 Cranberry Street
You’re at least two glasses in (or two bottles!), but you should still be ok enough to walk through the rest of DUMBO; may we suggest sticking to Water Street so you pass through the Archway, then hanging a left on Washington Street (make sure to turn around at some point to take in that breathtaking bridgescape!) to Cadman Plaza, which you can cut through to get over to Henry Street, a charming strip with shops, eateries, watering holes and a movie theater at the northeastern corner of Brooklyn’s most historically pleasant neighborhood. Here you’ll find another wine bar, a corner spot with a boxy wooden aura that seems almost stately—and perfectly appropriate for where you are. The staff is super friendly, bringing us the half carafe (!) we ordered along with tasty items from the food menu, because you can’t drink all night without putting a little something in your stomach. (All the bars on this list offer great food, actually, so you should eat at any point you feel like it!) When you finish up, why not take a walk around the surrounding stately brownstoned streets? You could cut over to Hicks and walk south (for a while) until you hit Atlantic Avenue, where a quick whiskey at Montero’s will wash the hoity-toity right outta ya.
