The 2014 Brooklyn Restaurant Preview: Everywhere You’re Going to Want to Eat this Year
Jacques Gautier Taqueria: Poor Fort Reno — reputable St. Louis-style ribs aside, they just couldn’t stay afloat amidst a steady, incoming slew of top-notch BBQ places, and Dinosaur moving in down the street proved the final death knell. Happily, owner Jacques Gautier (also of Palo Santo) is regrouping and returning to what he does best…Latin food with farm-to-table flair. To be sure, grab-and-go tacos like duck mole, pork surtido and fried avocados on made-to-order tortillas sound like a much better fit for the tiny space than by-the-pound smoked meat.
