The 5 Best Alternative Workouts in Brooklyn
Prospect Park Ice Skating: So maybe you’re the kind of person who likes to exercise outdoors but doesn’t like to run? JOIN THE CLUB. No, seriously. We’re thinking of starting a club. But until we actually start that club, may we suggest getting in a workout by enjoying the revamped ice skating rink in Prospect Park? There is both a covered and uncovered ice skating rink, and entry is only $6 on weekdays and $8 on weekends (plus an additional $5 for skate rental), so it’s an affordable alternative to joining a gym, plus allows you to partake in outdoor sports in the dead of winter. Just remember, lace your skates tight so your ankles don’t pronate, and get up quickly if you fall. You do not want some kid from Park Slope skating over your fingers. You really don’t.
