The 10 Creepiest Buildings in Brooklyn
Admiral’s Row, Fort Greene
These 19th-century homes in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Brooklyn’s own Pripyat, visible from Flushing Avenue, have been a cause celebre among the preservationist set—and an eyesore for those who’d like to see them knocked down and developed. Most of the 11 homes have been or will be demolished to make way for a supermarket, but as recently as August one blogger visited and took photos. “There are some abandoned spaces which are scary for legal purposes, some which are scary because of physical danger, and some because of the eeriness of the space,” Atlas Obscura reported. “Admiral’s Row is all three.”
