Sausage Burrito: Calexico
Well, so, I’m just going to say that you shouldn’t get a “sausage burrito.” A burrito with chorizo or one with carnitas? Sure, that’s fine. But breakfast sausage doesn’t really belong in a burrito. Not at all. And so since we’re disregarding the breakfast sausage element, I’m also going to forget about the eggs too. Just get a burrito! There’s so many good options for one in Brooklyn, but I’m partial to the burrito at Calexico because it comes with crack sauce which is a pretty good replacement for any fast food restaurant’s secret sauce. You could get the chipotle pork burrito—it’s warmly spicy and comes with tangy pickled onions—but I really like the vegetarian version with black beans and avocado. It’s got more umami flavor than anything at McDonald’s.
