Dessert at Brooklyn Southern: Not that you can’t get perfectly fine shellfish here (albeit mostly fried, and stuffed into po boys), but we’d rather hone in on their decadent desserts. And what screams the Deep South better than pecan pie, topped with a cloud of fresh whipped cream? Make that the French Quarter-inspired Queen of Sheba cake (Reine de Saba), a dense, flourless confection of chocolate, ground almonds and rum.
