What to Do at Every Stop Along the R Train
DeKalb Avenue
Hey, welcome to Fort Greene! You’re right by Fort Greene Park, which is worth traveling to. I mean, I guess there are a few other hilly, grassy parks in Brooklyn (including another on the R line), but how many of them have a giant plaza grounded by an enormous obelisk memorializing all the Americans who perished on English prison ships? If you’re not impressed by awesome municipal architecture, stroll the brownstone-lined blocks down to Fulton, where you can get something to eat at Bati, the local, vegan-friendly Ethiopian restaurant.
