Eat Like an American: The Best Places to Stuff Your Face on the Fourth of July

Maison Premiere
As much of a tradition as it is to enjoy BBQ and hot dogs on the 4th, it’s also plenty in keeping with the spirit of the Revolutionary Era to chow down on seafood. Fact: oysters and lobster were so plentiful during colonial times that they were considered lower-class food. It would be cool if, in honor of that, oysters could be priced accordingly on the 4th of July, but that probably won’t happen. But go to Maison Premiere anyway, hang out in the backyard garden, enjoy the music of the Bedford Avenue Society Band, slurp down some oysters, and drink lots and lots of absinthe.
