“Battle Pass” in Prospect Park is the area in which important events in the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Long Island took place, and there are several monuments to commemorate it, such as the Dongan Oak monument, which roughly marks the spot where the rebel army cut down a rather large tree to impede the advance of the British army.
