Central Park Shark???
First things first. Gothamist reported this morning on shark-y looking fins spotted in the Harlem Meer at Central Park. Though their provenance is officially unknown, a Central Park Conservancy rep speculated, “It’s likely that those fins belong to large carp (at least two feet in length). This time of year, you’ll see a lot of carp activity at the surface of the Meer.” This does seem more likely than a shark having made its way into Central Park, but then, the fins look suspiciously big. Just don’t go in the Meer for a while.
