Alcohol Cures Everything: A Guide To At-Home Remedies
The Common Cold
For years, I’ve sworn by the spicy-soup-followed-by-tea-with-honey-and-whiskey-in-it method of DIY cold curin’, and really, it works like a charm. Moderation is key, though. Any more than the amount of booze it takes to pleasantly numb your throat will probably just end in one of those horrible phelgm-y chest coughs that you need real medicine for. Anyway, scientists swear there’s no evidence it works, so judge for yourself. What they do seem to agree on is that drinking moderately somehow reduces your risk of getting a cold in the first place, so if you’re even sick, it probably just means you haven’t been drinking enough on the regular. Lame.
