How Much of Brooklyn Could Global Warming Destroy?
Five Feet
If, as the Times says, it’s probably that water levels rise five feet in the next 100-300 years, flooding would touch bayside neighborhoods like Gerritsen Beach, Bergen Beach, Sheepshead Bay and Canarsie. Hardest hit though would be Coney Island and Manhattan Beach, which are mostly underwater in this scenario, as well as Red Hook, which would be heavily flooded. Also hit hard would be the old Army Terminals in Sunset Park.
