This (slightly insane) diversity is all part of the plan. “On the Lower East side, for instance, there are almost different genres of vintage,” said Luciani. “You know, you’ll have the stores specifically for punk girls, alongside more general options. What we want to do is put everything in one place, but alongside pieces that go together.” Sale themes thus far have included everything from “Geek Chic” to a leather collection to a sale inspired by the “jet age” of the 1950s and 1960s.
Discussing a future for the site that will include both furniture and menswear stores, Luciani gestures to a corner where a growing collection of men’s shirts and ties sit on a makeshift rack, saying, “Plans for menswear are literally, right there, on the pipeline.”
