Brooklyn’s Best Places to Break Up With Your (Formerly) Loved One
“The Shining” at Nitehawk CInema
Okay, so a movie theater might seem like a bad place to break up with someone, but, really, it’s not! Because you can kind of get it over with before the movie even starts, you know? Just spit out whatever it is that you’re “feeling” about the state of your relationship while the previews are still on and then sit back and enjoy the show. And, in this case, when the show is “The Shining,” you will be treated to a couple of hours of one of cinema’s most dysfunctional relationships and you can feel good knowing that no matter how painful your breakup was, at least you didn’t end up frozen to death outside of a hedge maze like Jack Nicholson. And also you’re not Shelly Duvall. Hang on to that fact, too, if you need to. Which, NOTHING against Shelly Duvall. Because she was great in “Roxanne.” But you get it, I think.
