This Brooklyn Union Gas (now part of National Grid) ad is basically an advertisement for gentrification, enticing those with the “pioneering spirit” looking for “a place where you are a person, not a population” to move to this wacky place called Brooklyn, where “young people, very much like you, are renovating what some consider broken-down rooming houses.” Note the careful wording: “some.”
