As we’re writing this, we’re saying it in our heads in a Howard Cosell voice, which is hilarious. Wish you could hear it! But you get the idea—this sportscaster had a distinctive voice, most memorably used on three occasions: to coin the phrase “The Bronx is burning” (which he probably didn’t actually say), to announce the murder of John Lennon during Monday Night Football, and during his cameo in Bananas.
