House Band From Adventures Of Pete and Pete Will Play In Brooklyn
Just last night, the Brooklyn Cyclones hosted a Nickelodeon-themed night, featuring a first pitch from Kel Mitchell, slime and a live game of Double Dare!. But it seems like we haven’t quite gotten the nostalgia out of our systems yet: In November, the totally real house band from the Adventures of Pete and Pete are going on a small national tour and they’re coming to Brooklyn.
According to Uproxx, on November 21, Knitting Factory will host a live performance by none other than Polaris, the much-beloved house band from what was easily one of the most smartly-written kids’ shows of the 90s and performers of the show’s angsty theme song “Hey Sandy.” (The band will also play at Midtown’s Hammerstein Ballroom on October 9, but that’s not Brooklyn so who cares?!). Here’s what the band has to say about the tour:
Polaris, the band that once only lived in your television is coming to a galaxy near you. Known as the house band for the Nickelodeon show The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Polaris have never toured and only ever played live once. The fans have been waiting 20 years for this October and now in 2014 it’s finally happening.
Yes it is. Tickets to the show are going for a super affordable $20 and the whole thing kicks off at 7 pm. In the meantime, feel more than free to brush up on Polaris deep cuts by listening to an entirely real collection of all their songs for Pete & Pete on Spotify and think of better times when flannel hats were all the rage…
