Why we’re fascinated: Because she’s won numerous awards as a climate advocate helping minorities in Brooklyn’s oldest Latinx community-based organization. Yeampierre is a Puerto Rican attorney of African and indigenous ancestry and heads Uprose. More recently, her work with Sunset Park Solar hopes to establish it as the first cooperatively owned community solar project.
