City Point Brooklyn Shoots for the Stars on NBA All-Star Weekend

By City Point

PHOTOGRAPHY Zach Gross

There’s just 30 seconds on the clock. The music is pumping. The crowd is roaring. All-star ballers match up, about to face off…but first they stop to pass their jackets to their parents, in preparation to show off their shooting skills. This was the scene, Downtown Brooklyn, at City Point for their BKLYN All-Stars Shoot Out event last night for All-Star Weekend, hosted by our Editor-in-Chief, Yahdon Israel. Kids big and small got to shoot their shots for bragging rights and $50 Gift cards to Target and Trader Joes. Among the winners was young Brooklynite, and rising star, Tyson Oliver.

DJ Hall of Fame was on the ones and twos providing a soundtrack that had the whole main floor lit. And to top it all off, the fine people at Fortina Italian restaurant in the Dekalb Food Market hooked up complementary pizza, drinks, and a viewing for the All-Star game that had people lining up, showing that Los Angeles wasn’t the only place for All-Star action.
