Watch Mutual Benefit’s “Lost Dreamers” Video
Mutual Benefit is the very good pastoral-folk project of Jordan Lee, a current resident of Brooklyn’s own Bedstuy neighborhood. (Fun fact, I saw Lee walking down the block while I was riding the bus to work this morning). Anyway, Mutual Benefit have a fantastic new album called Skip A Sinking Stone that will be out 5/20. In advance of that, they’ve shared a video for one of the best tracks on the record called “Lost Dreamers.” In keeping with the song’s mystical feel, the video features bustling Brooklyn sights–buses, bodegas, subway stations–transposed over natural landscapes of quiet solitude. Directed by Ethan Samuel Young, the video deals with surrealism and disillusionment in equal measure. Then again, those two things have really always gone together. Watch below.
