Steve Gunn Back
I stayed up all night writing, which means I should be grouchy today. But how can I be grouchy when today is the day a new Steve Gunn album is announced? This morning the newly-minted Matador artist shared the news that this debut for the label, Eyes On The Lines, will be out 6/3. To give us a hint at what the record will contain, we also get the gorgeous video for “Conditions Wild.” The clips is directed by Brandon Herman, and works like a Zen-infused stop-motion nature scrapbook. As for the music, it’s a bit of departure from the pastoral tones of Gunn’s last album, Way Out Weather, twisting toward psychedelia and giving me strong Van Morrison vibes. That can only be a good thing. Watch the video below.
