Tonight in Bushwick, Join the Real 24 Hour Party People
Tonight, at Shea Stadium, 24 Hour Party People is no longer just an excellent movie, it is a real event, and you can be a part of it.
For the fifth year in a row, Eli Lehrhoff—aka DJ Smhoak Mosheein—will play 24 straight hours of music, beginning at midnight tonight and ending at midnight tomorrow, with plenty of assists from a lot of his friends.
SMOAKSTOCK 5 has not only arranged for more than 100 improvisational musical collaborations throughout all of “Twelve Twelve Fifteen” but also edible treats by Zax Snax, live portraiture by ten artists, 24 hours of twitter commentary and—awesomely—he will donate a portion of all proceeds to Planned Parenthood.
I don’t know Lehrhoff, who not only has DJ and band names (Brat Pit) that are excellent puns, but who has also advertised his fifth day-long musical extravaganza with such excellent taglines as “so much disaster,” “so much talent,” and “too much Smhoak Mosheein,” but I have a feeling I want to.
Starting at midnight, thank the best party people gods, we have 24 entire hours to make that happen.
