There are times when even we find ourselves thinking that Brooklyn is a really hard place to live: The G train can be a total nightmare, some of our favorite bodegas and bars and bookstores have closed, the rent is too damn high. Is any place worth all this hassle? Should we just join the personal essay-writing industry and say goodbye to all this? Well, no. Because when we pause for a moment and put the brakes on our downward spiral, we realize that there are plenty of great things about living in Brooklyn—places and people and events that make Brooklyn, well, kind of the best.
