Watch This Brooklyn Cop Dance the “Nae Nae” in Bed-Stuy
It’s nice to see healthy interaction between the NYPD and underserved neighborhoods, and quite frankly, it’s something that doesn’t happen enough. But on July 26th, a video of Officer James Ferrazzo showing off some fresh moves at a block party in Bed-Stuy appeared on YouTube, and it soon earned nearly 200,000 views.
Ferrazzo can be seen dancing to the song “Watch me (Whip/Nae Nae)” by rapper Silento among a large crowd outside of some brownstones in Bed-Stuy. The officer’s dance is met with sheer delight from the crowd, especially the man handling the camera, who consistently shouts in excitement throughout the footage.
NBC New York points out that Mayor de Blasio outlined a new protocol for the NYPD last June that will put cops in various neighborhoods on a long-term basis, so as to promote real relationships between police and community. To that effect, we might be seeing more cops dance the “Nae Nae,” than ever expected, which is not a bad thing, if you ask us.
