Adrian Grenier is Buying Up Clinton Hill, Launched A Whale Kickstarter
If you’ve been asking yourself What on earth is Adrian Grenier doing these days?” well, we have some updates. And they aren’t just about the Entourage movie, which is presumably still happening. First, the HBO actor is is doubling down on his investment in Clinton HIll. He just bought a five-story townhouse on Gates Avenue near St. James place for $2.1 million with his mother, Brown Harris Stevens broker Karesse Grenier. That’s adding to the place that he already owns on Grand Avenue, a mansion with solar roof panels. You might even say he’s building an…ahem…entourage of homes? No? OK.
Another thing that Grenier is doing: Crowdfunding a documentary about going in search of the world’s loneliest whale and fighting against ocean pollution. I don’t think Johnny Drama is involved in that one?
The project, titled Lonely Whale, just launched, and is looking for $300,000 in funds to support its mission. From the Kickstarter page:
We are going to embark on a deep-sea expedition to find the 52 Hertz Whale (“52”), also known as the Lonely Whale, who has spent its entire life in solitude calling out at a frequency that no other whale can understand. We plan to embark on a quest to re-discover the 52 Hz whale with the help of celebrated marine biologists, bio-acousticians and the public at large…While on this epic journey, we will explore how the fascinating phenomenon of underwater sound informs our story – from 52’s discovery, born from the Cold War science of submarine warfare, to the haunting allure and inexplicable complexities of whale songs, to the growing scourge of ocean noise that is disrupting the lives of whales everywhere.
Keep Brooklyn weird and whale-obsessed, Adrian Grenier. We are into it.
